Teaching at LCS is considered a position of ministry within Lifegate Church, and teachers are held to a high standard of accountability both in their personal and professional lives.
The starting salary for teachers at LCS is $20,000 a year; the children of full-time employees receive a scholarship for full tuition. Part-time teachers typically earn $3,500 a year per core class.
What is it Like to Work at LCS?
Many of our current faculty are certified teachers with children enrolled in the school or retired teachers who enjoy ministering at our school. We are selective in our admissions and require church involvement from our families. Major discipline issues are few and far between and we enjoy tremendous support from our parents and greater community.
A typical full-time middle or high school teacher will have four to five classes/preps across multiple grade levels with 10 to 20 students in each class. We are a small school (164 students) and our faculty wear many hats! Sometimes this means coaching, running a club, or volunteering to help with school activities and projects. Teachers are generally expected to be on campus 7:45am to 4pm, but there is some flexibility in the schedule. Our faculty participates in staff meetings once a month.
