The Goal of Lifegate Athletics

We are not seeking to be like other local schools and want to do sports differently. We want to utilize the sport as another tool in which to train students to have an accurate view of our great and glorious God and live out a gospel soaked life!!!

At Lifegate Christian School, we want to obtain the biblical mindset that goes beyond how the worldviews sports and ultimately view our sports as another conduit in which to build spiritual fortitude first, then athletic. As we strive to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), we want to view our sports in light of a scriptural foundation.

The goal is to always grow students first in godliness by training them up in biblical truths that apply to the tasks at hand. This is what makes Lifegate, Lifegate. If our first intentions for encouraging participation is merely to “win” or just about getting better at a sport, then we have lost sight of the goal for Lifegate Athletics.

So, we will teach good techniques and provide training that will position them to do their best with the means we have available to us, BUT being trained up in godliness is number one. Take a look at the following verses.
“7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” – 1 Timothy 4: 7-8
This is shown in our actions with one another, as coaches, staff, parents, students, etc. This is both in practice and in games. As believers, we must be gracious with one another.
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” – Ephesians 4:29

Let’s lead by example in building one another up in God’s glorious grace and being examples to our kids of what it looks like to “outdo one another in honor.” – Romans 12:10
